The two sides stressed the importance of strengthening trade and investment ties and reviewed opportunities for joint cooperation in telecommunications, information technology, artificial intelligence applications and entrepreneurship.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi discussed with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis developments in cooperation on the Egypt-Greece electricity interconnection project, as well as collaboration in tourism, transport, labor and migration.
The two sides stressed the importance of strengthening trade and investment ties and reviewed opportunities for joint cooperation in telecommunications, information technology, artificial intelligence applications and entrepreneurship.
El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to further developing relations with Greece across various fields in a way that serves their mutual interests and strengthens the strategic partnership between the two countries.
Presidential Spokesperson Mohamed El-Shennawy said the Greek prime minister expressed appreciation for Egypt’s warm hospitality and highlighted the longstanding ties between the two countries. Mitsotakis also welcomed Egypt’s hosting of the summit under the trilateral cooperation mechanism between Egypt, Greece and Cyprus.
He reaffirmed Greece’s commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation with Egypt, as well as coordination within the trilateral framework, while underscoring the importance of continued consultation on issues of mutual interest.
The meeting also addressed regional and international developments, with both sides stressing the need to de-escalate tensions and continue coordination aimed at containing instability and restoring regional stability.
El-Sisi reviewed Egypt’s efforts to safeguard regional peace and stability, while the discussions also covered developments in Libya, Syria and Lebanon. Both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining freedom of navigation through international waterways.
The two leaders also discussed developments in the Palestinian issue and stressed the importance of preserving the agreement to end the war in the Gaza Strip. El-Sisi reaffirmed that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, remains the only path toward lasting peace and stability in the region.
