Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has signed a Letter of Intent with Cisco Systems to cooperate on implementing national digital initiatives and supporting Egypt’s National AI Strategy.

The agreement focuses on advancing Egypt’s priority digital initiatives, particularly by expanding the adoption of artificial intelligence across government entities and other strategic sectors.

By leveraging Cisco’s global expertise and innovative solutions, the partnership will explore opportunities to scale AI-powered technologies to improve service delivery, enhance operational efficiency, and support data-driven decision-making.

The cooperation will also seek to promote innovation, economic diversification, and productivity through AI-enabled initiatives. It will further explore ways to strengthen Egypt’s national AI capabilities through skills development, institutional capacity building, and the wider adoption of AI applications.

Raafat Hendy, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, said the partnership would support the ministry’s efforts to expand AI applications and harness advanced global technologies to improve public services, foster innovation, and develop a skilled pool of AI specialists.

He added that these efforts would contribute to implementing Egypt’s National AI Strategy and accelerating digital transformation across various sectors.
