Egypt’s annual inflation eases to 10.3% in September 2025

Egypt’s annual inflation rate recorded 10.3% in September 2025, down from 11.2% in August, according to data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

The agency reported that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the entire country reached 260.9 points in September, marking a 1.5% increase compared to August. This rise reflects a monthly uptick in inflation.

According to CAPMAS, monthly inflation rose by 1.5% in September, primarily driven by higher prices of vegetables (up 12.2%), meat and poultry (up 3.5%), and ready-made clothing (up 1.0%) ahead of the winter season.

The report also noted increases in the actual rent of housing (up 1.2%), maintenance and repair costs (up 1.4%), furniture and household furnishings (up 1.2%), personal care products (up 1.5%), and ready meals (up 0.9%).

Meanwhile, prices of some goods declined during the month, including fish and seafood (down 0.3%), sugar and sugary products (down 0.5%), grains and bread (down 0.3%), and organized tourism trips (down 0.7%).
