The Ministry of Public Enterprise revealed that they are planning on developing a roadmap that will highlight investment opportunities within its subsidiary companies, the ministry revealed in a statement earlier today.
Minister of Public Enterprise Mahmoud Esmat made the announcement during a meeting with Shaikh Daij Bin Salman Bin Daij Al Khalifa, the chairman of Aluminum Bahrain (Alba). The roadmap will provide detailed information about the activities, geographical locations, investment values, and project specifics that have been prepared through several meetings with the business community and investors.
On his part, Shaikh Daij mentioned that his company is exploring a potential partnership with Egypt's Metallurgical Industries Holding Company to engage in the production of bauxite, a crucial raw material in manufacturing.
Esmat also outlined the ministry's privatization strategy, which aligns with the State Ownership Policy Document.
To attract more foreign investments and strengthen the private sector, the government has been implementing several initiatives, including recent decisions made by the restructured Supreme Council for Investment, comprising 22 proposals for legislative amendments. The amendments aim to reduce establishment costs for companies, streamline approval procedures and their durations, and expand the golden license program issuance.
