Egypt secures $300M AIIB financing for resilience & inclusive growth

The decree approves the loan agreement, subject to ratification, following approval by the Cabinet.

Egypt’s Official Gazette has published Presidential Decree No. 434 of 2025, issued by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, approving a $300 million loan agreement for the “Enhancing Resilience, Opportunities and Wellbeing in Egypt” programme between the Egyptian government and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).

The decree approves the loan agreement, subject to ratification, following approval by the Cabinet.

The House of Representatives approved the decision during its session on March 30, 2026, before it was ratified by the President on April 6, 2026.

The financing is intended to support the implementation of the Enhancing Resilience, Opportunities and Wellbeing in Egypt programme, as part of ongoing cooperation between the Egyptian government and the AIIB.
