Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting today to review efforts aimed at strengthening connectivity, trade exchange, and logistics cooperation between Egypt and African countries.
At the beginning of the meeting, Madbouly affirmed the state’s commitment to advancing logistics projects and various transport initiatives that link Egypt with fellow African countries.
He said these efforts come as part of Egypt’s broader strategy to support the growth of trade, tourism, and investment through continuous coordination with partners across the African continent.
The prime minister also highlighted the importance of expanding EgyptAir’s network across Africa, as well as enhancing maritime transport links, in a way that supports deeper trade and economic integration with African countries.
During the meeting, Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh El-Hefny, reviewed the plan to operate air routes connecting Egypt with a large number of African capitals and cities.
The plan comes in line with the state’s direction to deepen cooperation with African countries by increasing direct air connectivity, supporting trade, investment, and tourism flows, and improving air cargo and logistics services across the continent.
The Minister of Transport said Egypt places stronger connectivity with African countries among its top priorities.
He noted that this is being pursued through the development of various modes of transport to support intra-African trade, enhance the efficiency of maritime and land connectivity, and facilitate the movement of people and goods, strengthening Egypt’s position as a regional trade hub in Africa.
Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid, said the state is working through a clear plan and strategy to boost trade exchange with African countries.
He reaffirmed the ministry’s support for the efforts of the Ministries of Transport and Civil Aviation in this regard, noting that meetings will be held with relevant investors to move forward with implementing these plans and achieving the targeted objectives.
The Deputy Foreign Minister for African Affairs also stressed the importance of the proposals discussed during the meeting. He said Egypt is giving growing attention to strengthening continuous communication and connectivity with African countries at all levels, in support of integration and shared development across the continent.
He also reaffirmed the Foreign Ministry’s support for all plans aimed at enhancing economic and trade cooperation, as well as developing transport and aviation links with African countries.
At the end of the meeting, participants agreed to form a joint working group headed by the Minister of Investment. The group will be responsible for setting executive mechanisms to expand trade and investment cooperation between Egypt and African countries, increase trade exchange, facilitate exports and imports, and strengthen logistics connectivity, transport, and shipping services.
These efforts aim to open new markets for Egyptian products and enhance economic integration with African countries.
