MCIT and Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund sign protocol to improve SHMFF services

In an official statement, MCIT Minister Talaat stated his appreciation of the collaboration, mentioning the areas of cooperation between the two ministries and that both were working to develop and digitize the SHMFF’s work system.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund (SHMFF) have signed a cooperation protocol to develop the latter’s digital transformation services.

Witnessed by the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities (MHUC) Assem El Gazzar and the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat, the protocol was signed by the Deputy ICT Minister for Institutional Development Ghada Labib, and SHMFF Chairperson May Abdel Hamid.

In an official statement, Talaat stated his appreciation of the collaboration, mentioning the areas of cooperation between the two ministries and that both were working to develop and digitize the SHMFF’s work system.

He highlighted that the collaboration is to put into effect the digital transformation system and develop institutional and ICT infrastructure in order to develop the fund’s services and increase efficiency.

This is part of MCIT’s cooperation with several other sectors aligned with Egypt’s digital transformation strategy, which aims to use modern technologies to improve the services provided by state institutions. 

Talaat added that according to the protocol, MCIT will provide technical support and training to further develop and build the digital capabilities and capacities of SHMFF’s executives and employees.

El Gazzar stated that the protocol involves the implementation of a number of projects, including designing and developing the technological system at SHMFF, according to business needs and performance indicators.

The aim of the protocol is to meet automation goals and the SHMFF’s digital transformation through microservices technology, improving the security of the environment hosting the SHMFF system, and providing the infrastructure needed to develop the system, including devices, equipment, connection lines and others.

According to the statement, SHMFF’s chairperson Abdel Hamid also stated that the protocol will include technical consultation for managing the project, and technical support for the project and operation environment to ensure the system’s operation, and provide technical training within the protocol’s scope of work.
