The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Sunday’s trading session, October 4, 2026, in positive territory, with its benchmark EGX30 index, which tracks the market’s 30 largest listed companies, rising 1.61% to close at 53,911.1 points.
The EGX70 EWI index, which tracks small- and mid-cap stocks, climbed 3.04% to 19,952.98 points, while the broader EGX100 EWI index gained 2.77% to close at 26,366.99 points. The Shariah index also gained 2.94% to close at 6.636.61points.
Total trading value reached EGP 10.265 billion, with 2,0 billion securities across 278,313 transactions.
The market capitalization of listed companies stood at EGP 4.263 trillion at the end of the session.
Shares of 178 companies advanced, while 33 declined and 12 remained unchanged.
Arab investors recorded net sales of EGP 79.36 million, while foreign investors were net sellers of EGP 222.46 million. Egyptian investors, meanwhile, recorded net purchases of EGP 301.82 million.
