The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed trading for the week in the green, adding EGP 8.9 billion to the market cap.

Benchmark index EGX 30 surged by 1.41% to 12,515.71 points, while EGX 50 climbed 0.55% to 2,185.74 points.

EGX 70 rose by 1.10% to 2,388.35 points with EGX 100 up by 0.93% to 3,482.65 points.

Today’s trading saw 721.59 million shares exchanged over 68,804 transactions with a turnover of EGP 2.13 billion.

Market capitalization was recorded at EGP 821.74 billion, an additional EGP 8.9 billion compared to yesterday’s EGP 813.65 billion.

Trading on securities saw Egyptian and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 44.42 million and EGP 168.96 million, respectively. Arab traders were net buyers with EGP 213.38 million.

The top gains of the session were by Lecico Egypt which climbed by 19%, Maridive & oil services by 11.32%, and Suez Canal Bank S.A.E by 10.24%.

The largest losses of the day were by Alexandria Pharmaceuticals which fell by 14.26%, Cairo Pharmaceuticals by 11.08%, and Arab Polvara Spinning & Weaving Co. by 3.35%.
