Jan 4. EGX closes 2nd session of 2021 in red, adds 11.5M to market cap.

Monday’s Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed in red, adding LE 115.76 million to market capitalization.

EGX 30 dropped 0.29 percent, or 31.25 points, to end at 10,813.78 points, with EGX 50 dipping 0.52 percent, or 11.61 points, to end at 2,234.15 points.

EGX 70 went down 0.80 percent, or 17.22 points, to close at 2,143.51 points, and EGX 100 declined .70 percent, or 21.73 points, to close at 3,096.85 points.

Traded through 39,688 transactions, trading volume reached 425.43 million shares with a turnover of LE 1.17 billion.

Market capitalization gained around LE 115.76 million, recording LE 653.45 billion, compared to LE 653.34 billion in Sunday’s session. 

Net buyers were Arab individuals at LE 13.44 million, and foreign investors at LE 8.2 million.

Net sellers were Egyptian individuals at LE 48.75 million, foreign individuals at LE 5.89 million, as well as Egyptian and Arab investors selling at LE 7.16 million, and LE 1.04 million, respectively.

Egyptian, and foreign organizations bought at LE 41.59 million, and LE 14.09 million, respectively, while Arab organizations sold LE 14.48 million.

Top gainers were Raya Holding for Financial Investments at 9.93 percent, El Nasr for Manufacturing Agricultural Crops at 9.87 percent, and Alexandria New Medical Center at 8.56 percent.

Top losers were the Arab Dairy Products Co. Arab Dairy – Panda by 8.40 percent, Nasr Company for Civil Works by 4.67 percent, and the GMC Group for Industrial, Commercial & Financial Investments by 4.66 percent.

On Sunday, the first session of 2021, EGX ended trading in green: as EGX30 stabilized at 10,845.03 points, EGX 50 rose 0.47 percent, EGX 70 hiked 0.73 percent, and EGX 100 climbed 0.67 percent.
