Egypt–Türkiye trade volume rises to $6.8B in 2025

The data showed a decline in Egyptian exports to Türkiye, which fell to $3.2 billion in 2025, compared with $3.4 billion in 2024.

Trade volume between Egypt and Türkiye increased to $6.8 billion during 2025, up from $6.6 billion in 2024, according to data released by Egypt’s Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
 
The data showed a decline in Egyptian exports to Türkiye, which fell to $3.2 billion in 2025, compared with $3.4 billion in 2024.
 
Ready-made garments topped Egypt’s exports to Türkiye, valued at $389 million, followed by plastics and plastic products at $317 million, electrical machinery and equipment at $301 million, iron and steel at $290 million, and fertilizers worth $255.4 million.
 
Egypt’s Imports from Türkiye Increase
 
On the other hand, Egyptian imports from Türkiye rose to $3.6 billion in 2025, up from $3.2 billion a year earlier.
 
Mineral fuels and oils led imports at $729.3 million, followed by electrical machinery and equipment valued at $602.2 million, iron and steel at $514.8 million, cotton and cotton products at $259.9 million, and vehicles and tractors worth $155.6 million.
 
Sharp Rise in Remittances from Egyptians in Türkiye
 
Remittances from Egyptians working in Türkiye surged to $69.7 million during fiscal year 2024/2025, compared with $32.3 million in FY 2023/2024, marking a growth rate of around 115.8%.
 
Meanwhile, remittances from Turkish workers in Egypt increased to $11.1 million in FY 2024/2025, up from $9.4 million in the previous fiscal year, representing an 18.1% increase.
 
CAPMAS data also showed that Egypt’s population reached 108.6 million in February 2026, while Türkiye’s population stood at 87.8 million during the same period. The number of Egyptians residing in Türkiye was estimated at around 52,000 by the end of 2024.
