Egypt’s monthly inflation rate declines by 0.2% for November 2025

Egypt’s monthly inflation rate decreased by 0.2% for November 2025, according to a report released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS). The Consumer Price Index for the entire country stood at 263.8, down from 264.3 points in October 2025.

Additionally, the annual inflation rate for November 2025 was recorded at 10.0%, a slight drop from 10.1% in October 2025.

The main factors contributing to this decrease in inflation include a significant drop in the prices of several categories.

Vegetables saw a decrease of -15.8%, while grains and bread prices fell by -0.2%. The prices of meat and poultry also decreased by -1.5%, and fish and seafood by -0.8%.

 Furthermore, dairy products, cheese, and eggs saw a decline of -1.2%, while personal goods prices dropped by -0.4%.

Despite the overall decrease, certain categories experienced price increases in November 2025. The prices of oils and fats rose by 0.3%, and coffee, tea, and cocoa increased by 0.3%.

Mineral water, soft drinks, and natural juices also saw a rise of 0.4%. Tobacco prices went up by 0.3%, and fabrics experienced a 0.6% increase. Ready-made clothing prices surged by 1.2%, while cleaning, maintenance, and clothing rental services went up by 1.4%.

Housing-related expenses also saw notable increases. Actual housing rent rose by 2.1%, and imputed housing rent increased by 2.0%.

Housing maintenance and repairs went up by 0.9%, and water and other housing-related services experienced a rise of 0.6%.

 Furthermore, electricity, gas, and other fuel materials increased by 3.9%, while furniture, furnishings, carpets, and other floor coverings saw a 0.6% rise.

Household textiles increased by 1.3%, and glassware, tableware, and household items rose by 0.9%. Goods and services for home maintenance also saw an increase of 1.4%.

Several services and transportation-related expenses also experienced price hikes. Outpatient clinic services increased by 1.1%, and hospital services rose by 2.0%.

 Vehicle purchases saw an increase of 2.1%, while private transport expenses surged by 6.4%.

 Transport services also went up by 8.3%. Additionally, the cost of ready-made meals rose by 1.3%, hotel services increased by 1.6%, and personal care services saw a rise of 1.4%.
