On the 52nd anniversary of the Glorious October Victory, Egypt continues its comprehensive efforts to develop the Sinai Peninsula through major projects aimed at improving living standards and supporting sustainable development across vital sectors.

Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, extended her congratulations to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Egyptian Armed Forces, and the Egyptian people on this national occasion, affirming the State’s ongoing commitment to advancing development in Sinai.

Al-Mashat announced that EGP 10 billion in public investments have been allocated under the FY 2025/2026 plan for projects in North and South Sinai. These projects span key sectors such as agriculture, water, sanitation, health, and education, with the aim of enhancing infrastructure, creating jobs, and ensuring inclusive growth.

Since 2014, Egypt has embarked on a national program to transform the Sinai Peninsula through strategic projects in infrastructure, agriculture, education, and tourism, as well as in water desalination and treatment to secure sustainable resources for drinking and irrigation.

Among the flagship projects are the Al-Mahsama and Bahr El-Baqar wastewater treatment systems, which together provide treated water for the reclamation of nearly half a million feddans in Sinai, supporting agricultural expansion and job creation. Additionally, multiple seawater desalination plants are being established in both North and South Sinai to ensure a permanent and reliable supply of potable water.

According to the FY 2025/2026 development plan, public investments in North Sinai amount to EGP 6.6 billion, directed mainly toward agriculture, healthcare, and construction. South Sinai will receive approximately EGP 3.6 billion, with priority given to transport, healthcare, and water projects.

In tandem with infrastructure development, the Egypt Services Center in Arish is nearing completion. The center will serve as a model for integrated public service delivery, offering more than 150 government services in one location to facilitate access for citizens in North Sinai.

Al-Mashat emphasized that these initiatives reflect Egypt’s unwavering commitment to achieving comprehensive and balanced regional development, consolidating the foundations of prosperity in every part of the nation, particularly in the Sinai Peninsula, whose development remains a national priority.
