Egypt’s agricultural exports have witnessed a significant increase, reaching 5.2 million tons during the first half of 2025.
By the end of May, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk announced that exports had already recorded 4.8 million tons.
A report from the Ministry highlighted that citrus fruits continued to lead the list of Egypt’s top agricultural exports with 1.8 million tons, followed by potatoes with 1.2 million tons.
According to official statistics, fresh onion exports totaled around 168,000 tons, followed by fresh and dried beans at 136,000 tons. Sweet potatoes came in fifth with 103,000 tons.
The list of key Egyptian agricultural exports also included, in order: grapes, fresh strawberries, fresh garlic, fresh tomatoes, guava, and pomegranates.
Minister Alaa Farouk emphasized that the Ministry continues to provide strong support for exporters and is working to remove any obstacles they may face—enhancing the global competitiveness of Egyptian agricultural products.
He noted that this growth reflects the vital role of the agricultural sector in Egypt’s national economy and its contribution to the country’s broader development plans.
