Egypt and India are working towards strengthening their economic partnership, with a shared goal of increasing bilateral trade to $12 billion in the coming years.
During a formal dinner hosted by Indian Minister of External Affairs, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, in honor of Egyptian Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El-Khatib, both officials expressed their commitment to expanding economic cooperation.
They emphasized the importance of deepening strategic ties between the two nations, fostering trade growth, and enhancing mutual investments.
El-Khatib highlighted that trade between Egypt and India reached $4.2 billion in 2024, underscoring the significant role Indian companies play in supporting Egypt’s economy.
Currently, 55 Indian companies operate across various sectors in Egypt, with total investments amounting to $3.75 billion.
Both sides agreed to continue strengthening investment and trade relations, building on the agreements made during the sixth session of the Joint Trade Committee in New Delhi last September.
