Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, Rania Al-Mashat, attended the Polish-Egyptian Business Forum, held as part of the inaugural session of the newly formed Egyptian-Polish Joint Committee. The forum brought together around 40 investors from both countries to explore opportunities for collaboration.

During the event, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Polish Chamber of Commerce and the Egyptian-Polish Businessmen Association.

The agreement aims to enhance trade and economic cooperation among members, expand bilateral trade across various sectors, and facilitate the signing of contracts and partnerships between companies from both nations.

It also provides necessary data to investors interested in exploring opportunities in either country, including information on laws, regulations, and exemptions to support economic activities.

In her speech, Al-Mashat emphasized Egypt’s eagerness to strengthen ties with Poland in all areas, particularly economic and trade relations, as well as knowledge exchange.

She highlighted the importance of studying mechanisms to increase trade volume and encouraging joint investments in sectors where both countries have competitive advantages.

Al-Mashat noted the significant progress made in key sectors such as trade, investment, energy, agriculture, tourism, and ICT.

She pointed out that the current trade exchange and private sector investments fall short of the aspirations of both nations. The forum, therefore, serves as a vital platform for fostering partnerships among investors and businesses while showcasing available opportunities.

She also outlined the Egyptian government’s new strategy, which prioritizes investment, empowers the private sector, and builds a competitive economy capable of attracting foreign investments.

Additionally, the government is committed to improving governance and investment efficiency to create a conducive environment for private-sector growth.

The forum provided an opportunity for Egyptian and Polish business leaders to explore investment opportunities and understand the benefits of investing in Egypt.

Companies from various industries participated, including food production, poultry, renewable energy, ICT, paper trading, and real estate, laying the groundwork for further economic collaboration.
