Egypt’s central bank reports net profits of EGP 107.7B by October 2024

The CBE's capital stood at EGP 21.600 billion as of October 2024.

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced achieving net profits of EGP 107.693 billion by the end of October 2024, compared to EGP 96.056 billion at the end of September 2024, according to its monthly financial statement.  

The statement revealed that reserves amounted to EGP 403.147 billion, while the CBE's capital stood at EGP 21.600 billion as of October 2024.  

Additionally, the CBE's total equity rose to EGP 162.413 billion by October, up from EGP 150.667 billion in September. Total liabilities increased to EGP 6.050 trillion from EGP 5.940 trillion over the same period.  

The bank also reported a rise in its total assets, which reached EGP 6.213 trillion by the end of October 2024, compared to EGP 6.090 trillion in September.  

The financial statement further highlighted the CBE’s contributions to international financial institutions, totaling EGP 26.210 billion, and investments in the capital of affiliated and sister companies, which reached EGP 79.099 billion by the end of October 2024.  

The CBE also disclosed an increase in gold balances, which climbed to EGP 545.310 billion in October 2024, up from EGP 517.147 billion in September.
