Prime Minister Madbouly tours Jotun's new paint factory, highlighting Egypt's strategic focus on industrial development and sustainability initiatives.

During his visit today to the city of 10th of Ramadan, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, accompanied by his entourage, headed to the Jotun Paints and Industrial Coatings factory.
The Prime Minister expressed the government's commitment to providing necessary support for new expansions of any factory or injecting new investments into various developmental projects in the country.
Abdullah Tawfik, the CEO of Jotun Paints and Industrial Coatings Company, welcomed the Prime Minister, confirming that the company has announced the opening of its new factory in Egypt, located in the industrial zone of 10th of Ramadan City, specialized in producing innovative paints, with a production capacity of more than 70 million liters per shift.
The company's director explained that the new factory occupies an area of 94 thousand square meters, with the company investing over $100 million in its establishment and equipment, based on its commitment to long-term investment in the local market. The opening comes within the framework of Jotun's expansion strategy in Egypt.
During his tour of the factory, the Prime Minister learned from Abdullah Tawfik about the company's plans to increase its investments. He pointed out that Jotun Paints always seeks innovation and the development of advanced products and solutions in the world of paints. The opening of the new factory in 10th of Ramadan, the largest of its kind for the company in Egypt, confirms our commitment to the Egyptian market, reflected in significant investments in this important and large market. In addition, it reflects our desire to participate in major development projects in Egypt, especially in infrastructure, real estate development, transportation networks, tunnels, bridges, and more.
Regarding the preparation of the new factory and its components, the company's director explained that Jotun Paints equipped the new factory with the latest modern technologies in production and operation, ensuring the delivery of the best quality levels and continuous development of locally manufactured paints. He added that the company has been operating in Egypt for over 35 years, with a long-term relationship with major real estate developers and public bodies in Egypt, and has a track record of success in serving various sectors of the Egyptian economy.
The company's director continued his remarks during the Prime Minister's inspection of the raw materials and finished products warehouses, the new production stage, and the loading dock. He clarified that Jotun Paints began its operations in Egypt by producing marine and industrial paints, then started producing architectural paints with the establishment of the first coloring center in 1996, owning more than 600 authorized distributors across the country.
He added that the Egyptian market is a pivotal market in Africa and the Middle East. Therefore, Jotun Paints exports its products to Libya, Kenya, and several other countries. The Jotun brand is present in more than 100 countries worldwide.
Jotun Paints also aims to continue innovating and developing products. Therefore, it has introduced the "Green Steps" program, contributing to providing more sustainable products and services. The establishment of the new factory is a step towards applying sustainability standards in Egypt in the field of paints, in addition to the company's commitment to reducing carbon emissions by 50% and increasing reliance on renewable energy solutions in its factories and facilities by 70% by 2030.
It is worth noting that Jotun was founded in 1926 in Norway and is one of the leading paint manufacturers in the world. It began its presence in the Middle East in 1974 through Jotun UAE, then significantly expanded its scope throughout the region.
