This intention was a focal point during discussions between the CEO of the Emirati company and Egypt's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El-Molla.

The meeting delved into the existing collaboration between the petroleum sector and Mubadala, which engages in research, exploration, and natural gas production in the Mediterranean and Red Seas. The current status of the company's projects in Egypt was also reviewed.

The conversation encompassed strategies to optimize mutual cooperation and explore investment opportunities. They examined potential projects for Mubadala's participation, reflecting its interest in injecting fresh investments into Egypt's energy sectors. Furthermore, they explored the company's role in implementing projects aimed at reducing emissions across various petroleum activities.

Mubadala, the Emirati company, initiated its investment presence in Egypt in 1992. Notably, it acquired a 10 percent stake in Italy's Eni in the Zohr field, the largest gas exploration field in the Mediterranean Sea. Additionally, Mubadala's subsidiary, Masdar, stands out as a significant investor in Egypt's burgeoning new and renewable energy sector.
