Egypt's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Eng. Tarek El Molla, emphasized the maximization of Egypt's role in the natural gas industry.

This achievement is a result of a clear vision that relies on economic reform, political stability, and Egypt's success in building distinguished international and regional relations.

Additionally, it highlights Egypt's collaboration with reliable partners to develop and increase the production of natural resources. The petroleum sector consistently works on creating an attractive investment climate and providing the necessary factors for the success of such investments.

During the inauguration of the first phase of the gas connection project for the Raven field, located in the North Alexandria Concession Area and developed by BP, to the Western Desert Gas Complex operated by the Egyptian Natural Gas Company (GASCO) in Alexandria, Minister El Molla stated that the petroleum industry, with its rich history and vision, constantly strives to achieve the highest economic returns from natural resources.

The Western Desert Gas Complex is one of the important petroleum hubs that serves the local market's needs and the petrochemical complexes with natural gas derivatives.

The strategy for developing and modernizing the petroleum sector, initiated in 2016, provided a vision for enhancing and increasing the productive capacities of entities to keep up with market growth rates and increasing demands.

Today, we witness the opening of a new phase of increasing production in the Western Desert Gas Complex and securing its supplies.

The Minister listened to an explanatory presentation by Eng. Yasser Salah, Chairman of GASCO, which clarified that the achievement of the Raven gas field connection project to the Western Desert Gas Complex is a realistic example of expediting the implementation of necessary petroleum projects to increase and secure production.

This connection aims to supply the complex from the Mediterranean Sea fields, in addition to its main supply from the Western Desert gas fields. It enhances supply security and maximizes the utilization of gas rich in discovered derivatives in the Mediterranean Sea, in line with the Ministry's strategy to maximize the utilization of natural gas and its derivatives.

Yasser Salah added that GASCO has constructed a 70-kilometer, 30-inch gas pipeline to transport gas from the Raven field in the Rashid area to the Western Desert Gas Complex. Additionally, a 5-kilometer, 18-inch spur line has been established to transport gas from the Raven field to the Ameriya Butane Plant.

The successful connection of the Raven gas field to the Western Desert Gas Complex represents a significant milestone in Egypt's efforts to enhance its natural gas industry.

This achievement contributes to the country's energy security and positions Egypt as a reliable supplier of natural gas and its derivatives. With a clear vision, strategic partnerships, and ongoing development projects, Egypt is well on its way to becoming a regional energy hub.
