Egypt's petroleum sector has achieved remarkable rates and record-breaking figures in the expansion projects for natural gas utilization over the past nine years.

To keep pace with the growing demand for natural gas, continuous reinforcement of the national gas network has been carried out. Several major gas pipelines have been completed and operated, totaling approximately 1,234 kilometers in length and costing nearly 20 billion Egyptian pounds.

Among the prominent projects are the following:

1. Gas supply pipelines for the state's mega-power plants in the New Administrative Capital, Burullus, and Beni Suef.

2. Additionally, the Ameriya/Alamein gas pipeline was constructed to deliver natural gas to the North Coast regions, extending up to the New Alamein City. This project is part of the government's plan to provide new cities with natural gas, with the New Alamein City being one of the key areas targeted for sustainable development. The pipeline aims to supply natural gas to the city.

3. Currently, the implementation of several other major gas pipelines is underway, with a total length of approximately 75 kilometers and an estimated cost of around 7.9 billion Egyptian pounds.

4. One of the notable projects is the Salamuniya/North Giza pipeline, which will supply the expansions of the New Fayoum City as part of the "Decent Life" initiative and the "Two Compressor Units" project in Dahshur.

These expansions and developments in the natural gas sector signify Egypt's commitment to enhancing its energy infrastructure and meeting the growing energy demands of various sectors.

The increased utilization of natural gas not only strengthens the country's energy security but also contributes to environmental sustainability by reducing reliance on traditional energy sources.
