Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez highlighted the imperative of finding a solution to the Palestinian crisis, particularly in the aftermath of the catastrophic events in Gaza. Speaking at a joint press conference with his Belgian counterpart at the Rafah Crossing, Sánchez praised the effective handling of the crisis, expressing gratitude to President Sisi for facilitating the cessation of hostilities and aiding the delivery of humanitarian and medical assistance to Gaza.

During the press conference aired by Cairo News Channel, Sánchez stated, "The situation is a catastrophe, and our handling of it has been effective. We managed to secure a ceasefire, leading to the delivery of aid. We thank President Sisi for his accomplishments, enabling the arrival of humanitarian and medical aid to Gaza."

Sánchez continued, "In Jerusalem, we had fruitful meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, discussing the October 7 attacks and our clear demand for the release of all Israeli hostages. We addressed Israel's actions, urging compliance with international law and the monitoring of civilian casualties, including women and children."

"We do not want violence; violence begets violence. This is a historic time, and we succeeded in halting the violence that led to significant losses for many decades. We discussed peace plans for the well-being, security, and peace of both peoples. We aimed to visit Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah, emphasizing the two-state solution supported by the entire international community."

Sánchez concluded, "Palestine and Israel must sit at the negotiating table, with the world supporting them in their quest. The conference aims to implement the two-state solution, recognizing both states for peace and stability. Spain strongly calls for a more extended ceasefire, working towards prosperity for this remarkable region."
