The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Monday’s trading session, October 5, 2026, in negative territory, with the benchmark EGX30 index, which tracks the market’s 30 largest listed companies, falling 0.66% to close at 53,553.41 points.
The EGX70 EWI index, which tracks small- and mid-cap stocks, declined 0.89% to 19,776.31 points, while the broader EGX100 EWI index also fell 0.89% to close at 26,132.88 points. The Shariah index also declined 0.42% to close at 6,608.43 points.

The market capitalization of listed companies stood at EGP 4.239 trillion, down from EGP 4.263 trillion at the previous session.
Arab investors recorded net sales of EGP 60.296 million, while foreign investors were net sellers by EGP 521.422 million. Egyptian investors, meanwhile, recorded net purchases of EGP 581.715 million.
