The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Wednesday’s trading session in negative territory, with the benchmark EGX30 index falling 1.29% to close at 54,224.93 points.
The EGX70 EWI index, which tracks small- and mid-cap stocks, declined 1.16% to 20,222.74 points, while the broader EGX100 index dropped 1.14% to 26,686.9 points. The Shariah index also declined 0.78% to 6,598.53 points.
Total trading value reached EGP 9.21 billion, with 2.1 billion securities across 198,281 transactions.
Total market capitalization stood at EGP 4.296 trillion, down from EGP 4.342 trillion at the previous session, a loss of EGP 46 billion.
Egyptian investors recorded net purchases of EGP 555.791 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers with net outflows of EGP 71.602 million and EGP 484.188 million, respectively.
