The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Monday’s trading session with its benchmark EGX30 index falling 0.68% to close at 54,994.31 points.
The EGX70 EWI index, which tracks small- and mid-cap stocks, declined 2.77% to 20,480.58 points, while the broader EGX100 EWI index fell 2.29% to 26,999.44 points. The Shariah Index also lost 0.99% to 6,605.65 points.
Total trading value reached EGP 13.511 billion, with 13,5 billion securities across 282,498 transactions.
Total market capitalization stood at EGP 4.337 trillion, down from EGP 4,384 trillion at the previous close, a loss of about EGP 7 billion.
In terms of net flows, Egyptian investors were net buyers with purchases totaling EGP 238.684 million. Meanwhile, Arab and foreign investors were net sellers, recording net sales of EGP 58.816 million and EGP 179.868 million, respectively.
