The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) returned to the green during Monday trading amid Egyptian and Arab selling.
Benchmark index EGX30 saw a slight bump of 0.19% to close at 23,954.96 points.
EGX 70 soared by 1.25% to 4,791.36 points, followed by EGX 100 climbing by 0.87% to end the session at 7,020.85 points.
Monday trading saw 1.41 billion shares exchanged with a turnover of EGP 3.374 billion.
Market capitalization was recorded at EGP 1.614 trillion, an additional EGP 1.5 billion from Sunday’s close of EGP 1.613 billion.
Trading on securities saw Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 60.918 million and EGP 1.212 million, respectively.
The top gains of the session were by Nasr Company for Civil Works which climbed by 13.72%, Telecom Egypt by 12.35%, and Mena Touristic & Real Estate Investment by 12.12%.
The largest losses of the session were by Alexandria Pharmaceuticals which dropped by 9.7%, Medical Packaging Company by 6.66%, and Asek Company for Mining – Ascom by 6.5%.
The purchase price of 24-carat gold reached EGP 3,000 per gram; EGP 44 higher than on Sunday.
