Speaking at a joint press conference with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Sunday, Prabowo said Indonesia is working to translate its strategic partnership with Egypt into tangible cooperation that delivers meaningful benefits to both nations.
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has welcomed a proposal to establish a joint investment fund with Egypt to encourage and support investments in strategic projects across both countries.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Sunday, Prabowo said Indonesia is working to translate its strategic partnership with Egypt into tangible cooperation that delivers meaningful benefits to both nations.
He emphasized that the two countries are seeking to establish an economic partnership agreement aimed at expanding market access, boosting investment opportunities, and increasing private-sector participation in bilateral economic activities.
Prabowo also welcomed the initiative to establish a joint investment fund involving investment institutions from both countries, with the aim of financing and promoting strategic projects.
During the visit, El-Sisi and Prabowo witnessed the exchange of four cooperation agreements covering maritime affairs and fisheries, statistical cooperation, a strategic partnership action plan, and visa exemptions for holders of diplomatic, service, and special passports.
The two leaders also discussed strengthening cooperation in trade, investment, economic development, and defense industries as part of efforts to deepen bilateral relations.
The agreements were exchanged during El-Sisi’s official state visit to Indonesia on October 10–11, 2026, reflecting both countries’ commitment to expanding their strategic partnership and strengthening economic cooperation.
