The Central Bank of Egypt’s (CBE) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) decided to keep its key interest rates unchanged.
The overnight deposit rate, overnight lending rate and the CBE’s main operation rate were maintained at 19.00%, 20.00% and 19.50%, respectively. The discount rate was also kept unchanged at 19.50%.
The CBE said the decision reflects the committee’s assessment of the latest inflation developments and outlook, as well as changes in the balance of risks surrounding inflation.
