Rostom said Egypt offers promising investment opportunities and benefits from a strategic logistics location that supports the expansion of value chains in agricultural and food manufacturing, while enhancing access to regional and international markets.
Ahmed Rostom, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, discussed Americana Foods’ expansion plans and opportunities to increase its investments in Egypt, highlighting the company’s position as one of the major players in the food industry.
Rostom said Egypt offers promising investment opportunities and benefits from a strategic logistics location that supports the expansion of value chains in agricultural and food manufacturing, while enhancing access to regional and international markets.
He also highlighted the growth indicators recorded by the Egyptian economy during the fourth quarter and the 2025/2026 fiscal year, noting that lower unemployment and inflation rates, alongside improved performance across several sectors, reflect the resilience of the economy and the sustainability of its growth trajectory, as well as its ability to generate further employment opportunities.
The minister reviewed the development and investment role of the National Investment Bank and its affiliated companies, particularly Ayady for Investment and Development, in supporting national projects and strengthening private-sector participation in Egypt’s development efforts.
Rostom also outlined the investment advantages and incentives available to investors, in coordination with the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade. These include the development of free and investment zones, access to the Golden License, streamlined procedures for expanding existing projects, and the availability of energy resources and qualified labor at competitive costs.
He said these advantages enhance the ability of companies operating in Egypt to expand their operations, increase production and exports, and leverage the country’s geographical location to access regional and global markets.
Representatives of Americana Foods, for their part, expressed the group’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Egypt and capitalizing on the promising investment opportunities available in the local market as part of its expansion plans for the coming period.
Company officials also expressed interest in cooperating with the Future of Egypt for Sustainable Development Authority in agricultural investment and food manufacturing, supporting the expansion of value chains linked to production, processing and exports.
Rostom invited Americana’s senior executives to visit Egypt to explore available investment opportunities and incentives firsthand and to hold meetings with ministers and heads of relevant authorities. The visit would aim to accelerate the company’s expansion plans in food manufacturing, agricultural investment and exports.
