President El-Sisi held a meeting on Monday with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Civil Aviation Minister Sameh El-Hefny to review ongoing efforts to develop the country’s civil aviation system.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has directed efforts to strengthen strategic partnerships aimed at attracting more foreign direct investment into Egypt’s civil aviation sector through the establishment of integrated investment zones around Egyptian airports.
President El-Sisi held a meeting on Monday with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Civil Aviation Minister Sameh El-Hefny to review ongoing efforts to develop the country’s civil aviation system.
During the meeting, the Civil Aviation Minister presented the key components of the sector’s development plan, including ongoing projects to modernize airport infrastructure, expand capacity, and enhance the quality of services provided to passengers.
El-Hefny also reviewed the ministry’s future activity plans, highlighting that continued investment in upgrading and expanding the capacity of Egyptian airports aims to support the state’s comprehensive development goals and keep pace with the steady growth of global tourism and air travel, further strengthening Egypt’s position as a strategic aviation hub due to its geographic advantages.
The President emphasized the need for continuous development of the civil aviation sector by modernizing airport infrastructure, improving service efficiency, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and security. These efforts, he noted, are essential to enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian airports regionally and internationally, while increasing private-sector participation in airport management and operations.
The meeting also included a review of the strategic vision and implementation status of the project to construct Terminal 4 at Cairo International Airport. El-Hefny stated that the project aims to establish a new passenger terminal with an annual capacity of around 40 million passengers, marking a significant expansion in Cairo Airport’s capacity and supporting Egypt’s goal of becoming a leading regional hub for aviation, transportation, and logistics services.
He added that the project will adopt the latest global concepts in airport design and operations through the use of artificial intelligence technologies, digital transformation solutions, and the development of a smart and sustainable operating system that improves passenger services, enhances operational efficiency, and meets the highest environmental sustainability standards.
President El-Sisi directed that the new terminal be developed according to the highest international standards in design, technology, sustainability, and operational efficiency, making it a world-class model among modern airport facilities.
He also stressed the importance of monitoring any complaints related to service quality at Egyptian airports and addressing them promptly and seriously to improve the travel experience and strengthen passenger confidence.
