Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, inaugurated the factory of the global company Leoni, which specializes in manufacturing automotive wiring harnesses.

The factory is located in Badr City, part of the Robiki axis, covering an area of 14,000 square meters.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the automotive industry has become a top priority for the Egyptian state.

Consequently, the government is making significant efforts to localize this vital industry, as part of a broader plan to localize manufacturing in general and attract foreign direct investment into this key sector.

He further highlighted the facilitation of establishing and growing high-value-added industrial projects, especially in the automotive components industry, which is considered one of the most promising sectors in the Egyptian economy.

This is in line with the National Automotive Industry Development Program, which aims to increase local components and attract investments to build a strong industrial base, contributing to the deepening of the automotive industry as a core pillar for sustainable manufacturing and transportation.

The Prime Minister also noted that Egypt has become a global hub for manufacturing electrical wiring harnesses, hosting major companies specializing in this field, producing components for all types of vehicles, whether traditional or electric.

This reflects the confidence that global companies have in the strength of the Egyptian economy and the efficiency of the Egyptian workforce.

This confidence has been clearly increasing in recent times with the expansion of many industrial projects, all part of the state's vision for industrial development.

The factory is the largest industrial complex for manufacturing automotive wiring and cables, and it is the 15th of its kind in Egypt.

Located on a 91,000-square-meter area, the complex contributes to the transfer of modern German technology, increases employment opportunities, enhances production efficiency, and deepens local manufacturing in the automotive sector.

Leoni Egypt achieved exports amounting to 240 million euros in 2024, according to Sherif El Desouki, Chairman of the company. He also revealed that the company ranked second in exports in the free zones.
