Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, met his Japanese counterpart on the sidelines of the G20 Summit 2025 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Japan’s Prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi, affirmed her government’s interest in expanding cooperation frameworks with Egypt across multiple sectors, building on the outcomes of recent high-level Japanese visits to Cairo.
Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, met his Japanese counterpart on the sidelines of the G20 Summit 2025 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
During the meeting, Madbouly emphasized Egypt’s aspiration to broaden cooperation with Japan to include advanced technological industries, artificial intelligence, and related governance systems.
He also underscored Egypt’s interest in opening new and wider avenues for economic collaboration, grounded in the two countries’ shared vision on key global issues, particularly climate change.
The discussions also covered ways to strengthen triangular cooperation between JICA, the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development, and African nations, in addition to supporting ongoing cooperation with Japan in the fields of peacebuilding and peacekeeping.
