Egypt & Italy strengthen economic partnership during Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening economic cooperation and advancing strategic relations between Egypt and Italy. This came during their meeting on the sidelines of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit.

 The talks placed particular emphasis on boosting trade, investment, and collaboration in key sectors including energy, agriculture, construction, and tourism.

Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy stated that President El-Sisi praised the steady development of Egyptian-Italian relations and highlighted the importance of continuing to build on the positive momentum achieved in recent years.

He underscored Egypt’s keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation that serves mutual interests and supports both nations’ economic growth.

The discussions also explored practical measures to expand trade exchanges and facilitate stronger communication between the business communities and private sectors of both countries.

The two sides agreed on the importance of encouraging direct partnerships and fostering an environment conducive to joint investments in diverse fields.

For her part, Prime Minister Meloni expressed appreciation for the progress in bilateral ties and welcomed the growing cooperation between Cairo and Rome across multiple domains.

 She affirmed Italy’s interest in further strengthening its economic partnership with Egypt, noting the country’s pivotal role as a key regional partner and a bridge linking Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

The meeting also touched on Italy’s support for Egypt within the European Union framework.

Both leaders expressed optimism about the success of the upcoming Egypt–EU meeting set to take place in Brussels on October 22, 2025, which aims to reinforce strategic dialogue and advance joint initiatives in sustainable development and economic integration.
