He added that these reforms, especially the significant upgrades to infrastructure, have strengthened the business environment and boosted flows of foreign direct investment across sectors.
Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, affirmed that Egypt regards Spain as a key partner in building joint projects capable of competing regionally and internationally.
He stressed that the Egyptian government remains committed to providing a supportive legislative and regulatory environment, along with the necessary facilitation measures for Spanish investors seeking to expand in the Egyptian market.
Speaking at the Egypt–Spain Business Forum, Madbouly noted that the sweeping reforms Egypt has undertaken in recent years, particularly in economic policy and infrastructure development, have helped remove major obstacles to growth and created a more attractive climate for foreign investment.
He added that these reforms, especially the significant upgrades to infrastructure, have strengthened the business environment and boosted flows of foreign direct investment across sectors.
Highlighting existing cooperation, the Prime Minister praised partnerships with leading Spanish companies, citing Talgo’s railway project, Grifols’ plasma manufacturing facility, and Siemens Gamesa’s wind energy investments as examples of mutually beneficial collaboration.
He also commended the role of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) in supporting projects in agriculture, irrigation, and water management, stressing Egypt’s eagerness to expand cooperation in line with national priorities, particularly in infrastructure and strategic initiatives.
King Felipe VI of Spain, in his address to the forum, described the Egyptian–Spanish Business Forum as an important opportunity to strengthen ties between the two countries.
He emphasized Spain’s commitment to transforming shared potential with Egypt into tangible projects and promising investment opportunities.
The King highlighted the strategic resources that both nations possess, granting them a distinguished position in international cooperation.
He also pointed to Spain’s contribution to several flagship projects in Egypt, including the New Administrative Capital, the Ismailia Tunnels, the Cairo Metro, and the high-speed train network.
In addition, he praised Egypt’s extensive potential and expertise in the field of tourism, underscoring the importance of joint efforts in this vital sector.
Madbouly concluded by stressing that economic collaboration between Egypt and Spain is gaining fresh momentum, opening new horizons for stronger ties between institutions and business communities.
He pointed to the Egyptian–Spanish Business Council as a pivotal mechanism for driving cooperation and launching projects that contribute to sustainable development.
He called on both business communities to seize the opportunity to expand joint investments, explore promising prospects, and establish sustainable ventures that transform shared potential into reality.
