Egypt’s Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam to deepen cooperation in the field of economic development.
This MoU reflects the shared recognition of the vital importance of collaboration as a driving force to enhance social and economic development in both countries.
It is grounded in a mutual commitment to sustainable development and a desire to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation, while fostering favorable conditions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The agreement also aims to diversify areas of economic and international cooperation, particularly by promoting bilateral collaboration in trade, investment, and economic sectors.
Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, emphasized the significance of the Joint Committee between Egypt and Vietnam, describing it as an effective mechanism for cooperation in economic development and international partnership.
She noted that, over its five previous sessions, the committee has played a pivotal role in consolidating bilateral economic relations and has served as a platform for constructive dialogue between the two governments and their respective business communities.
The Minister further explained that the newly signed MoU opens broad prospects within the framework of a comprehensive partnership between Egypt and Vietnam, aiming to strengthen and deepen bilateral economic and trade relations.
It also seeks to develop cooperation in key areas such as the digital economy, climate change, green development, renewable energy, industrial localization, and logistics services, with active participation from the private sector, thereby creating a promising platform for joint initiatives.
Additionally, the MoU includes an agreement to collaborate on policy dialogue, knowledge exchange, capacity building, and the sharing of successful policies and practices in the agreed-upon sectors.
