Egypt and Oman signed seven memoranda of understanding (MoU) and executive programs across various areas of cooperation, including labor, mineral resources, investment promotion, media collaboration, food safety, and religious affairs and endowments.

This came during a meeting held between Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdel Atty, and His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly Sultanate of Oman.

The two ministers held a bilateral session, followed by the convening of the 16th session of the Egyptian-Omani Joint Committee.

Minister Badr Abdel Atty stressed the importance of boosting trade, increasing joint investments, and exploring economic opportunities in both countries.

Abdel Atty also expressed interest in activating the Egypt-Oman Joint Business Council to enhance cooperation across sectors.

He affirmed that Egyptian companies are ready to contribute to development projects in Oman, especially those planned under the country’s Vision 2040 and its announced foreign investment strategy.

He expressed Egypt’s aspiration to achieve a qualitative leap in Egyptian-Omani economic integration, particularly in trade, industry, renewable energy—especially green hydrogen and green ammonia—logistics and transportation, ICT and digital transformation, healthcare, agriculture, and education.

He also stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Suez Canal Economic Zone and the Special Economic Zone at Duqm, particularly in maritime transport, logistics, and establishing sea links between Duqm Port and Egyptian ports to boost trade and deepen bilateral cooperation.
