Egypt’s medical exports recorded approximately $370 million during the first five months of 2025, marking a significant increase from $278 million during the same period in 2024—a growth rate of 33.1%.

In a statement, the Egyptian Export Council for Medical Industries explained that by the end of May 2025, pharmaceutical exports reached $156 million, medical supplies totaled $96 million, and cosmetics exports stood at $118 million.

The Council also outlined an ambitious plan to raise the total value of Egypt’s medical exports to $3 billion by the year 2030, through expanding market access and supporting local manufacturers.

For the first time, the Council will take part in the fourth edition of the Africa Health ExCon, set to be held from June 24 to 27, 2025, at the Egypt International Exhibition Center.

The event will see the participation of several Egyptian medical companies specializing in medical equipment, furniture, and laboratory products, offering them a valuable opportunity to connect with buyers and partners across the continent.

In 2024, Egypt exported $216 million worth of medical products to African markets, representing around 26% of the country’s total medical exports.

Africa is considered a strategic destination for Egyptian exports due to its growing demand for healthcare products and services.

The Council’s participation in the exhibition aims to enhance Egypt’s medical export footprint in African countries by promoting trade in finished products and encouraging joint manufacturing initiatives.

These efforts include exporting semi-finished products to be completed within African markets, fostering industrial cooperation and value chain integration.

Additionally, the Council will organize bilateral meetings between Egyptian companies and African importers and agents. A buyers’ delegation will attend the exhibition, featuring representatives from Ghana, Kenya, Senegal, South Africa, Uganda, and Côte d’Ivoire, with the goal of opening new trade channels and expanding Egypt’s reach across the continent.
