The Ministry of Industry is considering the establishment of a ready-to-operate industrial complex, including 450 factories and spanning 73.3 acres in the South Raswa Industrial Zone Extension in Port Said, according to an official statement from the ministry.

The proposed complex aims to support small-scale factories in sectors such as textiles, ready-made garments, engineering, food, and chemical industries.

Units within the complex will range in size from 250 to 500 square meters, with the possibility of combining spaces for larger requirements.

Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, Kamel Al-Wazir, directed the ministry to secure approvals from the Ministry of Environment and the General Directorate of Civil Protection regarding the construction specifications of the new complex.

The plans also include warehouses, service areas, sales outlets, workshops, and exhibition spaces to serve the complex and neighboring industrial zones.

The announcement came during a meeting chaired by the minister with Port Said investors to address challenges facing them and propose solutions. The meeting also discussed the issues impacting investors in various industrial zones across the governorate and the measures needed to overcome these hurdles.

Minister El-Wazir noted that efforts are underway to transfer the management of all new industrial lands to the General Authority for Industrial Development (GAID).

As the sole entity authorized to allocate industrial lands to investors, GAID will oversee the implementation of the state’s strategic industrial plan.

The minister emphasized the importance of providing comprehensive supply chains and added value to support the textile industry in Port Said, a well-known sector in the governorate.

He highlighted the necessity of establishing a complete production cycle, starting with yarn and fabric manufacturing and dyeing, to ready-made garments.
