Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, Kamel Al Wazir, held an extensive meeting with Alexander Ogorodnikov, First Deputy Minister of Industry of Belarus, and representatives from five major Belarusian companies. The meeting, attended by Ambassador Ihab Nasr and senior officials from the ministries of industry, transport, military production, trade, and investment, aimed to explore ways to enhance industrial cooperation and localize critical industries in Egypt.

Minister Al-Wazir emphasized the strong ties between Egypt and Belarus, highlighting Egypt’s ambitious plan to develop its industrial sector under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. “We aim to transform Egypt into a regional industrial hub by offering significant incentives for industrial zones and creating an attractive investment environment,” he said.

Ogorodnikov, speaking on behalf of the Belarusian delegation, reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening industrial relations with Egypt. The delegation included executives from companies specializing in trucks, tractors, agricultural equipment, and silos, all keen on collaborating with Egyptian partners in these fields.

The discussions focused on mechanisms to bolster existing cooperation between Belarusian companies and Egypt’s Ministry of Military Production, particularly in the areas of trucks, agricultural tractors, and earth-moving equipment such as loaders, compactors, and forklifts. Minister Al-Wazir stressed the importance of producing high-quality, competitively priced products that meet local market demands and are positioned for export. “Effective marketing will be crucial to achieving the desired economic outcomes,” he noted.

The talks also included a proposal to establish a grain trading and processing center in Egypt. This logistical hub would handle the import, processing, and marketing of grain products to serve local needs and enable exports to Arab and African markets.

Both sides agreed on the importance of intensifying meetings in the coming months to develop a roadmap for deeper industrial collaboration. The Minister expressed optimism about the future of Egyptian-Belarusian cooperation, particularly in light of shared goals to foster economic growth and industrial advancement.
