The meeting, which was attended by high-level officials from both sides, focused on advancing cooperation in key sectors, including economic development, trade, and investment.

Al-Mashat highlighted the growing presence of Swedish companies in Egypt, particularly in technology, consumer electronics, and medical equipment sectors.

She emphasized the importance of the export credit system, which facilitates trade and investment exchanges between Egypt and Sweden, contributing to economic growth in both countries.

The Minister also referred to ongoing developmental projects, such as those aimed at enhancing the stability of Egypt’s electricity grid and promoting sustainability in urban transport, including the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system.

Al-Mashat stressed the need to attract more Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from Swedish companies and called for increased technical support within Egypt’s “NWFE” program.

In response, the Swedish delegation outlined their support for Egypt’s sustainable development initiatives, focusing on job creation, green transformation, and assistance to low-income communities.

Both sides affirmed their commitment to continuing fruitful cooperation to further strengthen the economic and trade relationship.
SIDA’s efforts in Egypt, as the largest development agency in the region, were also highlighted, with representatives emphasizing their aim to create synergies between trade and development to promote further investment and economic growth.
