These policies include diversifying sources of imports, increasing strategic reserves, enhancing market oversight to prevent monopolies on essential goods, and developing integrated approaches to improve production efficiency and reduce waste.
During his keynote address at the regional forum on "Accelerating Food System Transformation in the Arab Region" held in Amman, Farouk also highlighted efforts to enhance internal trade as a means to improve market efficiency and reduce trading intermediaries, fostering collaboration with the private sector to facilitate an improved food supply chain.
