Minister of International Cooperation (MoIC), Rania Al-Mashat, attended the graduation ceremony for 20 promising startup ventures within the sixth batch of the Orange Corners program, according to a statement by MoIC.

This program, aimed at fostering entrepreneurship and supporting startups in Upper Egypt, has now successfully brought a total of 116 companies across its six cycles.

The Minister highlighted the startup sector's vital role in attracting foreign investments and developing human capital.

Egypt leads the North African region in acquiring startup deals, with 129 companies securing over $1 million each, totaling more than $2.1 billion from 2019 to October 2023, Al-Mashat added.

She emphasized the crucial role of startups in generating quality job opportunities. Over the past three years, the Orange Corners program has significantly created numerous job opportunities.

Notably, startups within the program have experienced a remarkable 44% growth in business volume, accompanied by an increase of over 80% in revenue.

Minister Al-Mashat highlighted that the sixth session is an important step in improving Egypt's entrepreneurship environment and supporting female entrepreneurs. Notably, 59% of the graduated companies from the program are led by women.

The Orange Corners Egypt program is an initiative by the Dutch government to provide training, business networks, and support to entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses.
