Egypt releases commodities from ports worth $780M since Thursday

Egyptian Customs Authority released commodities valued at $780 million during the past Thursday and Friday, Head of Egyptian Customs Authority, Shahat Ghatouri, stated to Asharq Bloomberg.

Additionally, goods worth $280 million were released on Thursday, and goods worth $500 million were released on Friday, Ghatouri added.

Recently, in another interview with Asharq Bloomberg, he added that the value of goods accumulated in Egyptian ports currently amounts to about 6 billion dollars, including petroleum products.

Additionally, the total value of the goods released from Egypt's ports exceeds $12 billion during the period from the beginning of January until now, Ghatouri added during his tour today at Alexandria Port, to follow up on releasing goods and merchandise at various ports.

In a recent press conference held at the Alexandria Port, Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly reassured the public that the CBE would have the capacity to provide the necessary dollar needs in the future. This assurance aimed to alleviate concerns and restore confidence in the Egyptian economy.

Madbouly highlighted the government's commitment to securing foreign currency, stated that priority would be given to essential sectors such as food, medicine, fodder, petroleum products, raw materials, and production requirements for the industry.
