The Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bursa is planning to establish an industrial zone in Egypt. This came during a meeting with the Minister of Trade and Industry, Ahmed Samir and the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bursa and the Vice President of the Federation of Turkish Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

The minister said that the chamber wants to establish this zone in Egypt similar to the existing industrial zone in Bursa, which specializes in textiles, cars, aluminum, machinery, equipment, and advanced technologies.

Samir explained that the chamber aims for this region to be an export hub from Egypt to the markets of Europe, the United States of America, the Arabian Gulf, and North African markets, especially since Egypt is linked to these markets with free trade agreements that contribute to the rapid access of Turkish products to these markets, pointing out that this region will be attractive to various countries. Turkish investors interested in pumping investments into the Egyptian market.

The Minister indicated that the possibilities available to the Chamber are currently being studied to establish this industrial zone and to choose the geographical area appropriate to the needs and requirements of the companies that are members of the Chamber of Commerce, in a way that contributes to saving costs and achieving the maximum benefit for companies.

Trade exchange between Egypt and Turkey reached approximately $5.875 billion in 2023, according to the trade minister.

Samir noted that the Egyptian commodity exports to Turkey saw a significant increase, reaching $2.934 billion compared to about $2.288 billion during the same period in 2022, reflecting a 28% increase.
