Number of tourist arrivals to Egypt hits 14.9M in 2023 | TourismMin

In 2023, the volume of Egypt’s incoming tourists reached 14.906 million, according to the Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Issa.

The fourth quarter of 2023 witnessed a high demand in tourism movement, with 3.6 million tourists arriving to Egypt, an increase of about 8% compared to the same period of 2022.

This came during the meeting between the tourism minister and Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly to review the achievements of tourism sector.

In this regard, Issa pointed out that the record number for the volume of tourism coming to Egypt in 2010 was 14.731 million tourists.

Earlier in last October, the minister of tourism stated that Egypt aims to boost tourism and attract 30 million tourists annually by 2028.

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) reported in October, that Egypt's tourism revenues increased by 26.8%, reaching $13.6 billion in FY2022/2023, compared to $10.7 billion in FY2021/2022.

The number of inbound tourists increased by 35.6% to about 13.9 million tourists, the report wrote. Additionally, the number of nights spent by tourists in Egypt increased by 27.6% to record 146.1 million nights in FY 2022/2023.
