Sisi directs 2025 as the deadline for port, railway, and road development projects

This came during the second day of the "Hekayet Watan" conference in Egypt's New Administrative Capital.

Egypt’s President Abdelfattah El-Sisi has directed the government to finalize the implementation of projects to develop Alexandria port and other ports, the rail and roadways by no later than 2025.

“We are aiming to complete the development of the port of Alexandria and other ports, and the projects to develop railways and roads in 2025, not 2030,” El-Sisi said.

This came during the second day of the "Hekayet Watan" (Story of a Homeland) conference in Egypt's New Administrative Capital. The conference aims to shed light on Egypt's remarkable progress in various sectors, showcasing its vision and achievements.

Minister of Transport, Kamel El-Wazir said that his ministry working a comprehensive plan to modernize transportation elements across various sectors, with a budget allocation that has grown from 2 trillion Egyptian pounds to an expected 3 trillion by 2023.

Egypt has a goal to modernize the its transportation and road infrastructure, and transform into one of the major global hubs for transport and logistics.
