MCIT Minister appoints new acting CEO for ITIDA

Talaat has appointed Ahmed Hassan Elzaher as ITIDA’s new acting CEO, effective as of December 1st, taking over from Amr Mahfouz

The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) is getting a new acting CEO, with Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat issuing a decree earlier today.

Talaat has appointed Ahmed Hassan Elzaher as ITIDA’s new acting CEO, effective as of December 1st, taking over from Amr Mahfouz, according to an official statement.

Elzaher also holds the position of Assistant Minister for Ecosystem Development at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

The new ITIDA CEO joins the agency after his position as Vice President of IBM Cybersecurity Business for the Middle East and Africa, located in Dubai, UAE, in which he led a large team to establish and structure the organization, delivering strategic Cybersecurity Solutions for clients across the region.

He has over 27 years of experience in the Information Technology industry across different countries including Egypt, UAE, Kenya and Algeria, working in various fields such as IT Services, go-to-market strategies, leadership, and business development.

Elzaher has a strong track record in building and expanding organizations, spearheading growth, and developing talents, at local and regional levels.

He also served as the Chief Commercial Officer at the Abu Dhabi-based Digital14, the official cybersecurity provider for Expo 2020 Dubai.
