EGX market cap gains EGP 22B as benchmark index rises 0.7%

Egypt's stock market closed higher on Thursday, with the market capitalization of listed companies gaining EGP 22 billion to reach EGP 3.887 trillion, supported by foreign institutional and retail buying.
 
Total market turnover reached EGP 61.9 billion, including transactions in treasury bills, bonds, and block trades, while trading on the equities market amounted to EGP 7.8 billion.
 
The EGX30 benchmark index rose 0.7% to close at 52,928.06 points.
 
The EGX70 index for small- and mid-cap stocks advanced 1.54% to 17,049.97 points, while the broader EGX100 index climbed 1.24% to 22,887.36 points.
 
Market gains were driven by net buying from foreign institutions and investment funds, as well as Egyptian and foreign retail investors. Meanwhile, local and Arab institutions and Arab retail investors were net sellers during the session.
