Egyptian stocks close higher in Sunday trading, EGX30 rises 1.48%

Market capitalization increased to EGP 3.762 trillion, compared to EGP 3.719 trillion at the end of Thursday’s session.

Egypt’s stock market ended Sunday’s trading session on a collective upswing, with the benchmark EGX30 rising 1.48% to close at 52,861 points.
 
Broader indices also posted gains, as the Sharia index climbed 0.81% to 5,847 points, while EGX35-LV increased 1.24% to 5,872 points. EGX100 advanced 1.25% to 20,388 points, and the EGX70 index of small and medium-sized enterprises rose 1.29% to 14,584 points. The EGX30 Capped index also gained 1% to close at 64,869 points.
 
Market capitalization increased to EGP 3.762 trillion, compared to EGP 3.719 trillion at the end of Thursday’s session.
 
On investor activity, Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with purchases of EGP 129.7 million and EGP 103.3 million respectively, while foreign investors recorded net sales of EGP 233 million. 
 
Total turnover reached EGP 12.9 billion, with 1.9 billion shares traded through 170,000 transactions. The session saw 151 stocks advancing, 55 declining, while 15 remained unchanged.
 
On the gainers’ side, Raya Holding for Financial Investments led the market with a 7.59% increase, followed by Bonyan for Development & Trade, which jumped 6.82%, and B Investments Holding, which rose 6.37%. 
 
On the losers’ side, the Arab Dairy Products Co. Arab Dairy - Panda led declines, falling 5.38%, followed by Gogreen for Agricultural Investment, down 4.24%, and Arab Cotton Ginning dropped 3.40%.
