Egypt will host a World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting dedicated to business on November 16-17, bringing together around 80 leaders of major international companies, global economic institutions and private-sector executives.
Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and WEF Chief Executive Officer Alois Zwinggi signed the hosting agreement on Thursday, according to a statement from Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting aims to promote investment-driven inclusive growth, strengthen Egypt’s economic competitiveness and support the country’s transition towards an economic model driven by private-sector activity, exports and productivity.
Egypt Seeks to Expand Investment Opportunities
Abdelatty said hosting the meeting reflects international confidence in the resilience of Egypt’s economy and its ability to withstand regional and global challenges.
He added that the event would provide a platform to showcase investment opportunities to leading regional and international companies, highlighting improvements in infrastructure, roads, ports and the energy sector.
The minister also pointed to the modernization of Egypt’s banking sector, efforts to simplify investment procedures and incentives designed to attract foreign capital.
These developments, he said, could help Egypt secure higher-quality investments and strengthen its integration into the global economy.
WEF Highlights Egypt’s Economic Potential
Zwinggi said Egypt has significant economic potential and plays a pivotal role in the global economy.
He described the meeting as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between the public and private sectors, establish new partnerships and translate shared priorities into practical initiatives.
The discussions are expected to focus on enhancing competitiveness and supporting sustainable and inclusive growth in Egypt and internationally.
The gathering comes as Egypt seeks to attract more international investment, expand private-sector participation and increase the contribution of exports and productivity to economic growth.
